Art Goldberg - President & CEO Art formed the COLAH Group in 2001 and in the last 15 years the group has consulted to venture funds; evaluating companies and market opportunities, and directly to companies in diverse fields, including computer hardware, semi-conductors, software and clean-tech. Most recently COLAH has been working with a leading edge solar photo voltaic company and early stage startup with a very promising new energy saving semi-conductor product. The COLAH Group principally focuses on strategy development, company positioning, marketing, and corporate development including funding and mergers and acquisitions.
From January 2011 until December 2012 he served as the COO of deets, Inc. a startup that created a mobile application for the iphone, web and android. He was responsible for most aspects of the development of the Company including strategy, financial planning, and funding. The deets product is in market and is gaining acceptance as an innovative mobile product for team communications and project management in the enterprise space.
From April of 2006 to June 2008, Art had been the Chairman, President & CEO of Artificial Muscle, Inc. During his tenure in that position he restructured the business plan and strategy of the company and raised $22.6 million. He opened up multi-billion dollar opportunities for the company and under his leadership, the company was selected by Red Herring as one of the “Top 100 in the World” and was named as the top clean-tech company by the San Jose Business Journal.
Previously he had been the COO & Chief Strategy Officer of PathScale, Inc. In that capacity he redid the strategy of the company, raised $30 million and successfully introduced initial product including forming strategic partnerships with IBM, HP, Sun, and other key players. He was instrumental in negotiating the merger of the company with QLogic Corporation. Prior to that, Art had been Senior VP and Chief Strategy Officer of Semio Corporation (an innovator in document content management), Founder, Senior VP and Chief Strategy Officer of Entegrity Solutions Corp. (a security software company with authentication and PKI tools and products, and President & CEO of Atherton Technology (an object oriented configuration management software company).
Art spent many years in a variety of management positions with IBM. He was Director of Workstation Strategy for the company, Director of Development Operations on the RS/6000 and AIX, and Director of Marketing in the GE National Program Office. While working at IBM, he had a guest appointment at Brookhaven National Laboratory developing new systems for high energy physics experimentation and analysis, worked with the Governor of NJ’s task force on Computers in Higher education, and was a representative to the Presidential Commission on Electronic Funds Transfer Systems.
Art has sat on the Boards of Directors of Artificial Muscle, Inc.,SPARC International, APM (Digitivity) Corporation, PenOp Corporation and Atherton Technology.
He received a BS in Mathematics from Brooklyn College of the City University of New York and did graduate study at the University of Chicago.
